Throughout the years, Pacific Life has had many famous policyholders and beneficiaries, including several presidents. Benjamin Harrison, the United States’ 23rd president, was a policyholder, as was William Howard Taft, who served from 1909 to 1913. Abelardo L. Rodriguez, Mexico’s president during the 1930s, can also be found on file as a policyholder.

Famous beneficiaries included stars of stage and screen. Among them was French theater actress Sarah Bernhardt, who took out a $5,000 accident insurance policy. Pacific Life was also the preferred insurance agency of William Boyd, better known as Hopalong Cassidy, who appeared in dozens of westerns on the silver screen and starred in the first western series on TV starting in 1949.

This site was designed as a reference tool to commemorate Pacific Life's 150-year history between 1868-2018. For the latest company info and news, please visit pacificlife.com.
